The average cost per claim in Texas  					($5,938) was &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;76 percent &lt;/span&gt;above the median in the study of 12 large states conducted annually by WCRI.  Texas medical costs per claim were the highest of the 12 large states studied.  Texas employees received temporary disability benefits 50% longer than in any of the other states studied.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A summary of the study is available &lt;a href="http://www.wcrinet.org/media_release_TX_CS5_prepub.html"&gt;here&lt;/a&gt;.
